Mary Logan Loses Her Job
After a visit to her classroom by several members of the school board,
the Logan children's mother Mary loses her teaching job. Why do you
think she was fired?
Mary Logan got fired because T.J told the Wallaces that she had done stuff to their books and that she wasn't teaching all the stuff out of the book. I think that T.J told this to get revenge, because he had got failed again. Another reason that she probably got fired is because she and her family had tried to get a lot of families not to shop at the Wallace Store. Kaleb Wallace is on the shool board and probably had some say into firing her, because he was there when she got fired. Mr. Granger (who wanted to buy the Logan's land) was there too. He probably was still mad at the Logans because they refused to sell land to him, so she got fired. A BIG REASON IS BECAUSE SHE WAS BLACK AND THE PEOPLE THAT FIRED HER WERE WHITE!
I think she was fired because maybe a white person wanted the job Mary Logan was not white, in fact she was black. Also one of her children might of said something that she didn't want them to say so the principal found out and didn't want to let anybody else know that she knew this and she didn't want to let Mary Logan know so she just fired on behalf of that.
I think that Mary Logan got fired from her job because the white people got mad at her for telling everyone to stop shopping at the Walleces store. That made them mad and as a result the white people got Mary fired.
The reason I think why she got fired was because of her shopping in vicksburg instead of in strawberry. I think that she also might have gotten fired because somebody might have told her she was a bad teacher.
I think that Mary Logan lost her job because T.J was mad at her for failing him. T.J went to the Wallace store after she gave him an F, so he might have let something slip about how he thought that she was a bad teacher and taught stuff that wasn't in the book. FInally, he might have let slip about her pasting over the book.
